This Month's Sponsor
The March 14, 2010 "60+ luncheon" sponsorSpotlight Sponsor:
St. John's Helpful Shop
St. John's Helpful Shopa thrift store, located at the corner of Monterey and Capitola Avenues in Capitola Village . Begun by the women of St. John's Episcopal Church 57 years ago to raise money for a new carpet for our church on Depot Hill, the Shop is a vital part of Capitola Village and a continued service to the community. Our manager, Pam Rhodes, and 30 faithful volunteers receive and resell clean, gently used items in good condition that have been donated by parishioners and generous community members.
We are a non-profit organization, giving back to local and international humanitarian organizations all after-expense profits. Management oversight is provided by The Helpful Shop Board of Directors. In 2009, $30,350 was given in grants to 35 organizations and every grant that was received was awarded full or partial funding.
