Trusting LucyTrusting Lucy

Trusting Lucy is a collaboration out of Monterey between songwriters Linda Arceo and Lisa Long who joined musical forces in 2002 to focus their energy to write music that has been described as a “mix of soulful introspective ballads, straight-on hook driven melodic pop and forceful rock tunes sung with powerful distinctive voices and incredible harmonies reminiscent of the Wilson sisters from Heart, the Indigo Girls, and a dream duo of Grace Slick and Melissa Etheridge”. At Pride Santa Cruz, their music will be performed as an acoustic duo, and will provide an energetic stage performance that will definitely leave memorable musical impressions on any listener.

VaylenceVaylence

Vaylence is three parts passion with a spark of creativity and determined focus by three fiercely talented women musicians. To witness them perform live is to understand both their chemistry and the undeniable bond that the band unselfishly shares with its audience. These three have an insatiable thirst for creating new music together. Incorporating passion, diverse musical influences and a strong work ethic, their musical experimentation is innovative and daring but remains true and honest. Julia Harrell on drums provides hard hitting backbeats and a jazzy finesse.  Leigh Warner is a talented singer and vocalist, and brings influences from classic rock bands like The Beatles, Bad Company, and Led Zeppelin. Karen Whitham’s heart and soul belong to the guitar, but she can also play keyboards, bass, and violin. Together they have created a sound that you will remember!

The BulldawgsBulldawgs

The Bulldawgs are a unique combination of seasoned players from different walks of life. Originally assembled from members of The College of San Mateo, the group has performed in a number of Peninsula venues. Starting with the rhythm section, the band’s bass player Virgil Stanford and drummer Chris Cortez lay down the foundation for serious interpretations. Chris Phillips steps in with strong textures for rhythm and lead acoustic guitar. With the leads of Sam Haun’s straight-on rock style and Rudy Ramirez’s Latin roots in rock guitars, the tunes really turn up the heat! Add 3 strong vocalists led by Helen Souranoff. The rest is magic!

Dream TownDreamTown

In 2007 local artists Melanie Redman and Jamie Amos came together to form Dream Town. Melanie is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose works speak of personal growth and celebrate the process of following one’s truth. Her stunning voice and carefully designed guitar arrangements have earned her impressive engagements over the decades, opening for top bands such as Tower of Power, Eddie Money, and more recently Leon Russell. Jamie Amos is a familiar sight and sound on the Pride stage, having played bass in several festivals as part of the Frootie Flavors trio. His participation in the LGBT community includes serving on the advisory board for Planned Parenthood’s newly adopted transgender health care program, being a positive role model for our youth as a Triangle Speaker, and modeling for Jana Marcus’ Transfigurations photography exhibit.
