Art in the Park
The Diversity Center in Santa Cruz is excited to announce the first ever Art in the Park exhibit showcasing the work of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally artists. At this free event, we welcome artists to display their fine art at the Pride Festival in San Lorenzo Park following the Pride Parade on June 1, 2008. Since this is the first year of the program, we will be selecting a small number of artists for the exhibit. The following year, we hope to expand the exhibit into a full gallery of the community's fine artists.
We are expecting upwards of five thousand people to attend the festival and we encourage artists to sell their works. The spaces provided will be 10'X10', and artists are responsible for bringing any items (such as display boards, tables, shelter, etc) necessary to display their works. If you are unable to provide tables and shelters, the Diversity Center may provide some assistants. Artists or their representatives are responsible for setting up, security, and breakdown of their display area.
We hope to make this a successful first year, and your participation would be greatly welcomed. Attached is the application for art booth space. Please complete and return via email, mail, or fax no later than March 1, 2008. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Bluspiro at , or call (831) 325-3705.
