The Diversity Center is proud to sponsor and produce the annual Resource Directory of LGBT friendly businesses, services, and resources for Santa Cruz County.

The 2009 Resource Directory, set for publication in January, offers an invaluable service to our community while also supporting the success of LGBTIQ friendly businesses and organizations at the same time.

If you own, work at, or know of a business that ought to be in this Resource Directory, please consider participating. We look forward to working with you to make this our most successful Resource Directory ever!

New in 2009:

This year's publication is designed to build on the success of previous years Resource Directory's. 

  • Double Circulation: Increasing circulation to include mailing directories to more than 3000 individuals on the Diversity Center's mailing list.
  • Expanded Distribution: On-going distribution at businesses, organizations, and events through the county.
  • Promotion: Public Service Announcements (PSA's) will be aired on local NPR radio station, KUSP & KAZU, to help promote the awareness of the Resource Directory to consumers and businesses alike.
  • Coupon Pages: Printing several pages of coupons for our advertisers to promote their businesses.
  • Color Cover:To enhance the visibility and attractiveness of the Resource Directory, the new book will feature a color cover and back page.

Business Advertising

For businesses, the Resource Directory offers three opportunities for visibility:

1. Standard Business Listing:
  • Includes business name, address, contact information plus 150 characters (includes spaces) of descriptive text .
  • In addition to the Resource Directory booklet listings, the text is also added to the Diversity Center's Online Resource Directory year-round.
  • Rate: $25 per listing. $5 per additional 50 characters
2. Coupon Listing: New feature in 2009
  • Includes one coupon on the center fold of the director: Measurements TBA
  • Rate: $45 per Coupon Listing with the purchase of a Standard Business Listing and/or Advertisement.
  • Rate: $100 per Coupon Listing without any other listing or advertisement.
3. Advertisement:
  • Includes Ad (full page to business card sizes) plus one Standard Business Listing.
  • In addition to the Resource Directory booklet listing and advertisement, the text is also added to the Diversity Center's Online Resource Directory year-round.

Artwork Due December 10, 2008

Artwork: Art work must be provided in PDF (preferred), EPS (with fonts converted to outlines), or a TIFF or JPEG file with sufficient resolution for printing (300 dpi).

Artwork Design Assistance Available: For businesses who do not have access to a graphic artist, graphic design assistance is available at $50 an hour (30 minute billing intervals). Resource Directory Application

Step 1: Download application by clicking here.

Step 2: Complete application and indicate type of listing and/or advertisement.

  • For Standard Listing, include text.
  • For Coupon Listing and/or Advertisement, include Artwork.
  • Applications due December 10, 2008

Step 3: Complete Cost Calculation (see below) and include payment method.

Step 4: Sign "Affirmation of Support of the Diversity Center Mission Statement"
